3 Often Overlooked Details When Planning a Wedding

There are few things in life quite as exciting as planning your wedding and you want to get it right, down to the very last detail. You have always dreamed of that fairytale wedding so you know exactly what kind of gown you are going to wear and what the bridal party will be dressed in. You know, or have a rough idea, where you will say your vows and, of course, the kind of reception you would like to host after the ceremony.

You even have an idea where you want to spend your honeymoon! Unfortunately, there is so much more to a wedding than all that, as monumental as all those tasks are. Check out the following 3 often overlooked details when planning a wedding so that you don’t fall into the same trap as so many couples before you.

1. Always Have a Plan B

While you have always wanted to get married in your community church or at the local beach at sunset, mother nature doesn’t always comply with your wishes! What would happen if a recent storm took the roof off the church or a violent storm blew in on the evening you planned the happy event? Always have a “Plan B” just in case and don’t forget to also alert your guests that there is an alternative venue to fall back on. This way no one will be taken by surprise!

2. Correspondence Issues

Then there is the occasional couple who forgets to put a stamp on the RSVP envelope included in their invitations! Sometimes the wrong amount of postage can be just as bad, so make sure to check that all envelopes have the right amount of postage. Speaking of invitations, don’t forget that protocol and good manners call for “Thank You” cards to be sent after the event.

If finances are an issue or you have a themed event which you’d like to carry all the way through, why not print your own Thank You cards from Adobe templates? You will be surprised at the number of free Wedding Thank You Templates you can find online!

3. Appoint a “Day Of” Coordinator

Here’s another one of those important considerations which many couples don’t plan for. On the day of your wedding you don’t want to be seeing to all those last-minute details like straightening out seating plans when friends want to sit at the same table or giving directions to the caterer. There are a million and one things which need to be seen to on the day of your wedding and your main focus should be on having a wonderful day.

Believe it or not, these really are 3 of the most often overlooked details when planning a wedding so don’t neglect adding these to your initial “To Do” list. This is the day you’ve dreamed of all your life and you don’t want to spoil the day with overlooked details that distract you from the happy event. Plan well now so that your fairytale wedding leaves the realm of dreams and becomes your new reality.
