How to Make Your Bachelorette Party a Success

When the bachelorette party is over, will the bride and her guests have memories to cherish for a lifetime, or an experience they would like to forget? This is the worry of every bachelorette party planner. The truth is, a lot of blood, sweat and tears go into planning a bachelorette party (blood, sweat and tears the invitees will probably never see) — but all that work doesn’t guarantee a fun time will be had by all.

For a successful bridal bash, the planner must not only work hard, but also work skillfully. This is where the infographic below, Bachelorette Party Planning Guide, will prove itself indispensable to anyone involved with putting one of these events together. And, if you are a bride or even a groom, taking a look at this infographic will prove very valuable in helping you help the people putting together the party.

One of the toughest issues to deal with is the destination. Do you stick close to home? Do you go halfway around the world? Do you pick a wild and crazy party place like South Beach, or go for a more elegant setting in the California wine country? So many factors go into the decision, it’s liable to drive the party planner to tears.

Time and money are key factors in selecting a bachelorette party destination. Travel to exotic locations can be costly. If it’s too costly for invitees, you are putting them in an awkward position that may cast a shadow over the wedding, whether or not they attend the party. Along similar lines, some invitees may have the cash, but can’t afford to miss work for three or four days. Tensions flare up even more if the bride has her heart set on a destination where invitees have these time and/or money issues. A bachelorette planner needs to be a diplomat as well as a taskmaster!

Beyond having organizational and diplomatic skills, bachelorette party planners must understand budgeting, decorating, the travel and hospitality industries, and in some cases, a foreign language or two. For this reason, as the infographic so rightly reminds us, teamwork is yet another important element in pulling off a successful event. It is almost impossible for any one person to have all the skills necessary to put together an entire event — even if that person had the time to do so, which is also unlikely. Thus, no bachelorette party planner should ever be too proud to ask for help — and ask loudly.

We would be remiss if we did not emphasize one other talking point in the infographic: Limos, party buses and other forms of hired transportation are essential for a safe and trouble-free bachelorette party. Drinking and driving is never acceptable, and if the party is taking place in unfamiliar territory, doing so becomes a risk that is simply not worth taking, whatever the cost. Fortunately, hired transportation is quite affordable and of course, convenient.
