Successfully Planning a Big Event

Weddings, birthdays, conventions, and other large event planning can be big undertaking, and one you may not think you are qualified to handle. In reality, organization is the key to a successful event. From invitations to packing it up, it is all about following a plan.

Choosing a Venue

Will the event be inside a tent or outside in a garden or park? Do you prefer a business setting or a brick and mortar reception center. Do you need somewhere that offers sleeping arrangements or do you need a sit-down dining experience? Look into the amenities offered by the reception halls Campbell County KY event planners prefer for their events.

Invitations

Invitations should reflect the theme of the event, whether that be casual or formal or somewhere in between. They should clearly state if it is a black-tie event, whether food will be served, if there will be dancing or if it is a fund-raiser. Make sure to include response cards if an RSVP is needed.

Entertainment

Will you have recorded music, a live band, orchestra or a DJ? Do you want to show some kind of power point or have a keynote speaker? Dancing would require floor space in addition to music and a good sound system is essential. Make sure you arrange for the necessary equipment to make your event a success.

Food

If you are serving a meal to each person, you will need a trained wait staff to take care of that. A full buffet will also require some staff to keep the food supplied and clear away messes. Even if all you are serving is dessert, drinks or offering an open bar, staff will still be required.

You or someone else should be large and in charge during the event to ensure that all goes well. Planning and arranging these details will allow you to take a deep breath and enjoy the event yourself.
