How To Have a Gorgeous Wedding on a Budget

Your wedding will be the best day of your life, but that doesn’t mean it should bankrupt you. You can still stick to a budget and have the wedding of your dreams. Here are some ways you can have a fantastic wedding without spending a fortune.

Make Your Own Centerpieces

Wedding planners estimate that table centerpieces can cost anywhere from $80 to $400, depending on how many you need and what you make them out of. When you make your own, you will find that they cost a fraction of that. Use silk flowers to cut costs dramatically. The silk flowers have an added benefit because you’ll be able to repurpose them after the wedding, so you won’t be throwing your money away when you buy them. Additionally, if you want to add color and pizzazz to your centerpieces, think outside the box. Use colored ostrich feathers or unconventional bowls to place the centerpieces in.

If you want to go simple, consider getting used glass vases, filling them with water, and placing a few floating candles in the water. The centerpiece will be understated yet beautiful.

Don’t Have a Cake

Many people feel that a wedding isn’t complete without a cake. However, most wedding cakes are dry and covered in fondant, which doesn’t taste very good. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for something you don’t want, have a dessert that you’re actually interested in eating. You could create donut towers or go with custom cupcakes instead. With most wedding cakes costing around $500, you’ll find that you save a lot of money by going a different route.

Ditch the Decorations

When you’re trying to save money, you likely aren’t interested in buying decorations that you’ll use one time and then leave in your garage until you donate them to a thrift shop. Instead, have your wedding outside and let nature do your decorating. If you get married in the spring, you’ll be surrounded by colorful and fragrant flowers, and your guests won’t even notice the missing decorations.
